Offensive Strategies

Understanding how to put together a good game plan is discussed in the offensive strategies page. Topics include the base coaches job, how to give signals and the line up are discussed in several informative softball articles. You can help develop this site into the best resource for coaches by submitting your articles and comments in The Coaching-Fastpitch Blog.

The base coaches job is to provide information to the athletes. The third base manager should be the one calling the signals and coordinating the offensive plan.

Signals are typically given by the third base coach and are a way of communicating a plan to the players involved. You do not need a lot of signs with younger players.

The batting line up is a basic strategy that has to happen every game. This is my opinion on how you should make it. I am sure there are people that would disagree with me, but I’m the one writing this article.
