The "Coaching-Fastpitch.com Hands On" is just what it says it is. Coaches attending one of these 4 hour clinics should wear blue jeans and bring their glove. You can read, watch videos or listen to someone lecture about coaching, but the experience of learning by doing will stick like glue. You will learn the mechanics of and how to teach your players the following: Throwing Catching Fielding The Compact Swing Bunting Slapping Base Running You will also learn offensive and defensive strategies of the game. One of the most important things that you will learn is how to put a practice plan together that is productive and keeps your players interested.

What are the costs? How do I sign up?
You can pre-register as an individual for $25 or you could pre-register a group of 5 coaches for $100. Pre-registration must be completed at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled clinic time. Who Are the Coaches Presenting the Information?
Dan Knutson and Lee Eckman both started playing fastpitch back in the 1970's. They have a combined 29 years of coaching youth fastpitch.

Dan Knutson
Dan began playing competitive fastpitch and modified pitch in 1972. He played for eight seasons before knee injuries slowed him down. His coaching experience began in the late 70's when he coached a men's modified team for a year. In the late 70's and early 80's, he coached a woman's modified pitch team for 3 years. He did not return coaching again until his daughter began her playing career in the mid 90's. Dan has focused on coaching youth fastpitch over the past 15 years. He also served on the Rockford Area Athletic Association board from 1998 to 2007.Dan started the Crow River Raider program in the fall of 2007. The Raiders have grown from 6 teams in 2007 to 13 teams in 2010. The winter of 2010/11 saw the addition of winter dome ball teams to the Raiders program. Dan is the creator of the Coaching-Fastpitch.com web site, designed to help fastpitch coaches with drills, skills and strategies. Coaching-Fastpitch.com first came on line in February of 2010. Coaching-Fastpitch.com added coaches clinics and pitching clinics/lessons to it's offerings in 2011. Dan began Crow River Sports in 2000 and operates out of his home in Delano, MN. He also drives a truck for a local company.

Lee Eckman
Lee began his competitive fastpitch playing career in 1978. He played regularly for 10 years in the western suburbs and Parade Stadium in Minneapolis. He started to cut back on playing time and involvement in order to begin his family. When his daughters were old enough to start playing T-ball, Lee began his coaching career. He has been a youth coach for the past 14 years to with a range of experience from T-ball to 18U. He has coached 14 summer seasons, 6 fall seasons and his first winter dome season in 2010/11. Lee is currently the Corcoran Girls Softball Coordinator, a position that he has held for the past 10 years. He also serves on the Corcoran Association board.
